Getting A Bad Car
Several years ago, my sister bought a brand new mini van. After driving it for several months, she started having problems with the tires and drive-train. After numerous trips to the dealership for repairs with no results, she contacted several California Lemon law lawyers to see if they could help her out. She has 5 kids and really depends on her vehicle to get her wherever she or my nieces and nephews needed to go.
Fortunately for her the California Lemon Law attorneys were able to help her get a new vehicle within a few months of legal procedures. It turned out that the van she had gotten was definitely a lemon and qualified for replacement due to the problems it was having.
My sister is now able to get her kids to their sports activities, school and scout meetings with no problem. It was fortunate for her that she was able to get the help she needed. Many people do not realize that there are laws that protect them when they buy a vehicle. If you know of anyone that is having the same problems over and over, especially after it has been repaired, be sure to let them know that there are laws to protect them.
Missing Daddy
Yesterday would have been Daddy’s 86th birthday. I really miss that man. I was always Daddy’s little girl. He always brought me something when he would come home from a job. He worked out of town and would be gone for days at a time. He never forgot me though. I would run to the door and jump up and down excitedly when he came home.
He always took us camping and on vacations. He even took us to Disney when we were on vacation one time. I remember getting stranded in the snow up north, him falling out of the boat when he was fishing, etc. Every year around Halloween, he would have Fudgie fits. LOL! Kraft had some candy that was like caramels only they were called Fudgies. He loved those candies and would lay in the floor and roll around saying he was having a fudgie fit. It was quite hilarious.
We lost Daddy in July of 2010. I really wish things could have been different with my family. Ever since Dad got sick, our family has fallen apart. I miss my family.
Oh Christmas Tree
We finally put our Christmas tree up last weekend. Normally, we put it up the weekend after Thanksgiving. Due to inclement weather that weekend, we had to wait until the next weekend to see if we could find a decent looking live tree in the woods on some land my family owns. Unfortunately, due to the horrible drought this past year, we were unable to find a decent looking tree. So, out of the attic came the artificial tree.
My 4 year old son was amazed that we had a tree that came out of the box in pieces. He helped us get the colors sorted out so we could put it together. He was in awe-all he had ever seen were the live trees we usually put up. We finally got it together and it looked pretty good for an artificial tree. Next up were the lights. We put the lights on the tree and followed them with the ornaments that we had purchased earlier in the year. We have quite an array of ornaments: craft ornaments made by my stepchildren, military ornaments, light up ornaments, and the regular old plastic ball ornaments.
Are you ready for the xmas holiday season? I am definitely ready. My family loves the Christmas holidays. We get to spend time with our family and attend church to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Are You Ready?
I am so NOT ready for Christmas. I have the tree up and a few gifts to put under the tree. I need to clean up my house, wrap the gifts, and a few other last minute details. I just am not feeling it this year. I guess I am turning into a scrooge. Well, maybe not really a scrooge, but with the inability to do much of anything due to back pain, it makes me not want to do anything at all. It can be really annoying.
It seems like there is always something else to do. Heck, we never even got the outside lights put up this year. I don’t see it happening either. The weather has been pretty dreary-rainy and cold. Don’t wanna do anything at all. Maybe next year, I will get it all together.
My Niece’s House Burned
Unfortunately for my niece, her house burned down several months ago. Her husband had gone home to take a shower and get ready for their upcoming vacation. After getting out of the shower, he heard popping noises in the garage. He opened the door to discover that his Tahoe had caught on fire. The whole garage was engulfed in flames. After it was all said and done, the house was a total loss. My niece was devastated. This was her dream house and it was gone. They were able to save a few things-but not everything. Several neighbors and friends showed up and they quickly started grabbing things and getting as much as they could out of the house.
They contacted one of the local fire damage contractors austin to get their now disrupted lives back in order. There was furniture to be cleaned and a house to be rebuilt. After a few months, they were allowed to move back into their home. They actually got to be home by Thanksgiving. Lucky for them, there are companies like http://www.thesteamteam.com/ that can take over the task of getting a fire damaged home back to normal.
My New (to me) Bed
I finally got a new bed! Fortunately for me, I joined a local group on Facebook where people get rid of their old stuff. After being on there for several weeks, someone posted a king sized mattress and box springs for $100. I was so excited. The way the group works is that the very first person to say “I want it” gets the item. I jumped in and said that I wanted it. I went to get it yesterday and last night was a great night. I actually slept without feeling like I was falling out of the bed. Now, I have to find some king-sized sheets and blankets since my so-called family did not give mine back to me after my dad passed away. I am hoping I can find some on the Facebook group for a reasonable price.

Ouch-Getting Teeth Pulled Hurts!
Unfortunately for me, I had to get 2 of my teeth pulled this morning. It probably would not hurt so bad except for the fact that he was going to try to get my wisdom tooth out that is totally embedded under one of the teeth he pulled. He dug around until he figured out that the nerve was wrapped around the tooth and he could not go any further. Soo, I ended up with stitches in my mouth, still have the wisdom tooth and have a $390 bill to pay. UGH!!
He did say that eventually the wisdom tooth would come to the surface and depending on the situation, it might be able to be pulled or I may have to go to an oral surgeon. Not a good thought at all. Oh well, at least the other 2 teeth are gone now and they won’t hurt anymore.
A Helpful Suggestion Backfires
Authored by Greg Fletcher
My wife keeps nagging me about trying to find some ways to save money. She is always clipping coupons, buying stuff on sale, asking for discounts, you name it! She will drive five miles out of her way to save ten cents a gallon on gas. While I appreciate her efforts, I have tried to explain to her that with all the extra time she spends she really isn’t saving us that much money. I told her she needs to use her time more wisely. Time is money and money is time. I suggested she get online and look at reducing all of our fixed expenses. Cell phones, internet, television etc. Rather than trying to save us money on a lot of stuff we don’t need, let’s work on spending less money on the things we pay for every month. I told her a great place to start would be to do an internet search for Direct TV deals. Guess what I’m doing this weekend? Getting online to look at how we can save money on our cell phones, internet, television etc. Me and my big mouth!
Yes, I Do Work At Home
Why is it that people do not understand that I actually work when I am home? UGH! My phone has been ringing all day and I am not getting much of anything done at all. For all of those people that just don’t get the life of a blogger: YES, I have a job to do and when I am home by myself-I AM WORKING!! Do not call unless it is important or work related. If I can’t get posts done then I make no money. If you want to pay my bills, then by all means send me the money to pay my bills and I will talk to you all day long.
Do you work at home? How do you handle these problems?
